[CV]
I seek to use innovative, quantitative techniques from ecology, mathematics, statistics, data science, and economics to study and prevent biodiversity loss.
I’m a Research Programmer in the Kitzes Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. We monitor sound-producing animals at landscape scales using autonomous recorders and machine learning. We created OpenSoundscape, an open-source Python package ecologists can use to create machine learning models to identify sounds.
In addition to my research pursuits, I am passionate about birding (eBird profile), science communication (see my presentations), and developing open source tools for other birders and ecologists (check out my projects).
BA in Biology, Mathematics (double major)
